At 05.52 yesterday morning Global Wind Service (GWS) technicians completed installation of the final MHI Vestas V112-3.45MW wind turbine at Rampion Offshore Wind Farm.

During the seven month construction period, over 60 GWS technicians have worked on site. Most of whom can now change out of their work clothes, while a smaller team of technicians will stay on site and work on the final tasks for an additional two months.

The first of 116 turbines was installed in March this year, and once in full operation, the wind farm will provide enough green energy to supply over 283,000 homes and reduce carbon emission with 572,840 tonnes of CO2 per year.

The Rampion Offshore Wind Farm is located on a 79 km2 area in the English Channel off Sussex, UK.
