The first UK project is planned to kick-off in May 2016 in Scotland. All in all 102 turbines will be installed across four wind farms: Aikengall, Dersalloch, Crystal Rig 3 and Clyde Extension.
The project will continue into 2017, moving into Ireland in March, where Global Wind Service (GWS) will install 15 SWT 3MW turbines at the Scartaglen wind farm.
The majority of the turbines will be the SWT 3.2MW-101, however the SWT 2.3MW-82 has been chosen for Crystal Rig 3.
“We see a very active market in the UK from various suppliers, and with our local presence we believe GWS is a strong partner for installation and service work both onshore and offshore in the UK. We look forward to continue, and grow, our partnership with Siemens with these pipelines in the UK and Ireland,” said CCO Michael Høj Olsen.
