Following the long track record with Nordex Group installations in Europe, Global Wind Service (GWS) are starting the next exciting project with the strong and reliable N117/3600 wind turbine generator. At the Wieringermeer project in the Netherlands, GWS will support with pre-assembly, installation and service of 50 turbines.

This is a very exciting project, both in terms of size and also in regards to  number of engaged colleagues. Executing it in the Netherlands means that we are playing at home – as all operations are being managed by our local business unit in Duiven. The complexity of the project – where we also deliver service and blade support – requires full focus and excellent team work: therefore I am really proud that the Nordex Group trusts in our strong and close partnership, says Lars Petersen, Chief Commercial Officer at GWS.

GWS Benelux has been established in the Netherlands since 2009 and is a very successful branch on this market. With strong local knowledge, full coverage of project management, HSEQ colleagues and a warehouse, we are set up to perform to our customers’ expectations.

The Wieringermeer wind farm is located 60 kilometers north from Amsterdam, in the province North Holland. In the first stage the capacity will amount to 180 MW, whereas with further 32 turbines following in 2020 the installed total will be close to 300 MW and generate approx. 1.3 terawatt hours of green energy per year.
