Huge congratulations go out to Global Wind Service (GWS) technician John Galliford who recently completed the London Marathon in a blistering 3 hours and 52 minutes.

‘I decided to run the London marathon this year after completing the Great North Run last year which is a half marathon. The charity I ran for was CHILDREN WITH CANCER which I thought was a terrific charity and it certainly provided me with plenty of motavation for the training. The training itself was the hardest part, I was training everyday before and after work while on the Sheringham Shoal project – sometimes before breakfeast at 04:30 on the treadmill onboard the Regina Baltica.

When the race came on the 22nd of April I was ready or, so i thought … this was the hardest thing i had ever done. All went well untill mile 20 – thats when I hit ‘the wall’ –  the last 6 mile were tough and I managed to cross the line with a time of 3hrs 52. I was pleased to just finish the race and raise over £2,000 for CHILDREN WITH CANCER.’ said John.

John would like to say a big thank you to all the staff and technicians at Global Wind Service for their support and sponsorship.
