Commissioning Technician GE- US

Position Summary:

Build, install, commission, and troubleshoot wind turbines in accordance with established standard operating procedures. Perform maintenance activities including repower work, torque/tensioning, and cleaning. Prior GE turbine experience required.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a 2-man (minimum) team to ensure safe and efficient operation while performing commissioning, initial startup, troubleshooting and operation of turbines.

  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by actively promoting, following, and improving safety practices to ensure safe turbine operations.

  • Maintain accurate and complete records of commissioning and operational activities, including the preparation and submission of required documentation such as commissioning reports, timesheets, and service records

  • Ability to perform work safely and confidently at heights, as well as at ground level, in accordance with established safety requirements. 

  • Attend regular on-site safety meetings.

  • Operate company-assigned fleet vehicles safely and responsibly, in compliance with company policies, traffic laws, and safety regulations.

  • The candidates who possess the following valid certifications are preferred.

  • GWO BST

  • GWO BTT 

  • GWO ART 

  • GE Tech Essentials

  • GE Turbine Fundamentals

  • GE Converter

  • GE Advanced Troubleshooting

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Pre-employment background check and drug test

  • Valid driver license and acceptable MVR record

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Experience using basic power & hand tools.

  • Ability to fluently communicate in English.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

  • Ability to climb up to 300 ft.

  • Ability to travel 100%.

  • Completion of company provided safety and technical trainings

Level I- 

Operate as part of a minimum two-person team to achieve safe and efficient turbine operations, performing commissioning, initial startup, and operational activities, while maintaining compliance with all required company and customer safety and technical training requirements.

 

Level II – 

Minimum of six (6) months or 1,000 hours of relevant experience required. Must be capable of independently performing PCAT and FCAT commissioning activities. Successful completion of all customer-required safety and technical training is required.

 

Level III- 

Demonstrated ability to execute commissioning activities within SCADA and/or WFMS environments, including independent commissioning and troubleshooting. Completion of all customer-specific safety and technical training is mandatory.

 

Level IV- 

 Qualified to perform all responsibilities of Level II and Level III Commissioning Technical Advisor roles. Proven leadership and project controls experience are required to successfully lead and manage site commissioning activities.
