1-year anniversary at Global Wind Service Spain

It is now one year since Global Wind Service Spain and the office in Madrid was established. Looking back on the past year, the local unit has grown from employing only our Area Manager Daniel Coronel, to now employing more than 40 local employees within HR, recruitment, Project-and Resource Management and as installation technicians.

The Spanish unit is still growing, and the local HR team are constantly looking to develop and bring in new people to the industry and the Global Wind Service “family”, whether they have industry experience or transferable skills. Our Entry Program has enabled us to bring a number of newcomers into the industry this past year alone.

According to the Spanish Wind Energy Association More than 21,500 turbines installed in Spain provided 23.3% of the Energy consumed in Spain in 2021. The country has a total installed capacity of 28,139 MW and a goal of 2.2 GW installed per year that would be necessary to install until 2030 to achieve the objectives set in the Integrated National Plan of Energy and Climate (PNIEC).

When it comes to the most installed capacity of Wind Power in Europe Spain is only second behind Germany, and fifth in the World after China, the USA, Germany and India.

We work tirelessly to keep attracting local talents and secure both Installation and maintenance projects in Spain for the years to come. We have a great reputation and track record in the country, which we intend to keep” said Daniel Coronel, Area Manager Spain.

Global Wind Service has worked on many different projects in Spain and installed more than 100 turbines for GE Renewable Energy alone.
