Completion of the Windplan Blauw

 GE Vernova selected Global Wind Service as the partner for pre-assembly, main installation, and mechanical and electrical completion works. The pre-assembly took place at Alaskahaven Amsterdam and the main installation at Ijsselmeer, situated near the coast between Urk and Lelystad. “It was a challenging project, but thanks to the great teamwork together with GE, we managed to make it a success.”  Jeroen Tiemes said, Onshore Project Director.  

 Pre-assembly of the turbines by Global Wind Service began in March 2022, with main installation starting in May. The first turbine was erected on May 10^th and last one on 20^th March 2024. The project took approximately 120.000 working hours with two established teams and we would like to emphasize the importance of safety and quality, attributing success to the awareness and experience of onsite team. We are proud of our Teamwork, and we believe that employee satisfaction highly contributes to the project success and customer satisfaction.

It was a great pleasure working together with GE on this nearshore project. We had an excellent core teams. Nearshore projects are somewhat different from the normal offshore projects, as they are installed very close to land in shallow water. Therefore, the process differs from regular offshore installation.

However, it’s not the first time we have proven capable of delivering a scope like this. Most recently we undertook the pre-assembly and installation works at the 89-turbine project Wind Farm Fryslân, also in the Netherlands.
