Monday Sep 5th Global Wind Service technicians finished installing the very last turbine at Saint-Nazaire Offshore Wind farm in France.
GE Renewable Energy has chosen Global Wind Service (GWS) as partner for the load-out and installation of the 80 GE Haliade 150-6 MW turbines and half of the service scope. GWS service technicians continue their service and maintenance work on the turbines which includes break-in and annual maintenance along with corrective maintenance tasks such as troubleshooting and unplanned service.
“I would like to use this opportunity to congratulate GE Renewable Energy and the entire project team both on site and in the office reaching this fantastic milestone and for allowing GWS to take part in the construction of the very first offshore wind farm in French waters. It was an important project for us marking our entry on the Offshore Wind market in France. A market with great ambitions and outlook.
It has been a great project, and we were happy to continue the good collaboration we have with GE Renewable Energy. We look very much forward to the next opportunity to work together” said Henrik Jensen, Chief Operating Officer at Global Wind Service
Wind Farm Output
Once fully operational the 480-megawatt Saint-Nazaire wind farm will power 20% of the Loire-Atlantique-department’s annual power consumption which equals the consumption of around 700,000 people.
