About the role:
Due to our continued growth, Global Wind Service is looking for an Electrical Operations Manager reporting to our Operations Director, based in Germany. Working in close collaboration with the Head of Electrical Organization at Global Wind Service, this role is responsible for further developing, leading and driving the Electrical Organization within the company.
The position, in collaboration with the Head of Electical Organisation, will lead the Electrical Organisation across our 4 Operational Divisions – Offshore, Onshore, Service & Maintenance and Blades, specifically relating to electrical qualifications of our workforce. The position will also collaborate towards and drive development requirements, new training programs with our Global Wind Service Academy and collaborate alongside our Sales Team to further develop Global Wind Services' offering. The position will drive initiatives for improving Health, Safety, Environment and Quality within the department, in line with Global Wind Service HSEQ values.
The main focus of the position will be on the delivery of operational activities, developing and managing Commissioning activities and driving the Safe System of Work activities for the E.-Org. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams and work closely with our offices globally to drive he continuous improvement of our Electrical Organization’s function at all levels.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with electrical specialist and management competencies, and the ability to further strategically and operationally develop our Electrical Organization. You should expect travel on a regular basis, approximately 50% of your working time.
Job description:
- Lead and collaborate within the wider organization to establish the optimal operational delivery of our services, delivering against P&L and strategic targets to contribute to long term success
- Develop and execute growth strategies in collaboration with the E-Org management, including internal resource development ensuring market readiness
- Support operational divisions with Electrical Organisation requirements and requests regarding Low Voltage
- Verification and evaluation of employee electrical competencies and implementation of strategy and process for employee Electrical Nomination
- Lead, coach and manage the electrical resources within their assigned division; by developing training forecasts, training requirement matrixes, employee development roadmaps and managing project assignment of E-Org manpower resources Ensure global project portfolio delivery adheres with the Company’s HSEQ guidelines, mobilisation compliance (workforce related) and local requirements (electrical & HSE)
- Partner with internal functions: Legal – Local compliance, Leadership – legal/ operational compliance, HSEQ – Processes and Procedures
- Responsible for overall management of equipment testing (LV/HV), tooling (LV/HV) and PPE Arc Flash workwear
- Recruitment and direct line management of Commissioning Technicians, alongside Scada Specialist Technicians; including development and performance management
