Director of Center of Excellence and Integrated Planning

Due to our continued development, Global Wind Service is looking to appoint a Director of our Center of Excellence and Integrated Planning, to be based within commutable distance from one of our European Offices.


Global Wind Service (GWS) is a leading provider of turbine installation and service solutions for onshore and offshore wind turbine installation and maintenance projects worldwide. GWS employs more than 1,800 dedicated wind turbine technicians and back-office staff from 39 nationalities, working across 13 business units on 4 continents. The company is dedicated to delivering sustainable and reliable wind turbine installation and maintenance solutions that enable the transition to a cleaner and greener energy future.


As Director of these two important functions at Global Wind Service, you will lead a team of, highly skilled professionals in planning and process excellence and support the GWS ambition to maintain a leading edge in execution of maintenance & installation services. You will report to the Chief Operations Officer, based at our company headquarters in Denmark.


You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and work closely with our international offices. We are looking for a highly motivated individual with leadership competencies, the ability to lead and inspire a team and a passion for developing and professionalizing planning processes ie.

  • Strategic planning - in close collaboration with our world-class Sales Team
  • Tactical - planning with our skilled Project Managers
  • Operational Planning, allocating the right competencies to the right job levels

In addition, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence in project execution and lean operation at our sites. You will further play a key role in the strategic development and growth of Operations within GWS. You should expect to travel on a regular basis, approximately 30 days per year.

Requirements

    • Experience within a similar international organisation, preferably with employees working across borders.
    • Leading the Integrated planning team including the Operational Excellence team in GWS.
    • Own and lead the strategic planning in GWS in close collaboration with our Sales department and interfacing with our C-level.
    • Owner and facilitator of Tactical Project Planning, including Operational Planning; ensuring the right competencies at the right place at the right time.
    • Drive efficiency across our business divisions including ensuring a unified way of working.
    • Be responsible for continuous improvement of operational processes including being the owner of operational procedures and processes.
    • Governance of procedures and processes.
    • Facilitate functional communities, maintain technical expertise and ensure knowledge is deployed and available across the company.
    • Be responsible and own the internal Lessons Learned process, supporting a continuous increase in performance, delivering the best-in-class product and service to our clients.
    • Support the technical competency ‘muscle’ within GWS.
    • Custodian of our technical competency framework.
    • Owning and driving the digital agenda in operations and implementing solutions in collaboration with our highly professional IT team.
    • Lead and drive efficiency initiatives across our operations including across interfaces to other departments.
    • Establish and implement necessary performance driving ‘instruments’ to keep striving to the next level on top quartile deliverables.

Job requirements:

    • Experience within a similar international organization, preferably with employees working across borders.
    • Experience from developing and implementing planning processes on strategic, tactical and operational levels
