Human Resources Generalist

Position Summary:

Recruitment of new talent

Administer company policies and procedures

Partner with managers on HR issues

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate recruitment efforts for GWS US
  • Fosters productive relationships with clients, customers, and employees
  • Administer onboarding process for all new hires
  • Understand and follow federal, state, and local laws concerning recruitment
  • Assists with all HR data maintenance
  • Assist with maintaining and administering timesheets and attendance process
  • Understand and enforce all company policies and procedures
  • Provide consultation to managers on employee relations issues and escalate when appropriate
  • Assist with internal investigations
  • Assist employees with benefit enrollment process
  • Maintains employee files and documentation
  • Ensures accurate and timely reporting of time & attendance records for compensation payable to employees, including union and prevailing wage requirements
  • Partners with various internal departments including accounting, operations, and legal
  • Develops effective means of communication with associates at all levels across the business to build a relationship of trust and respect
  • Special projects, as assigned
  • Flexibility to work overtime hours on weekly basis and travel about 20%
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Pre-employment background check and drug test
  • At least three years of progressive HR experience and one year of direct recruiting experience
  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources or related field highly preferred
  • Strong PC skills, with proficiency in MS Office; working knowledge of standard HRIS systems
  • Working knowledge of basic employment rules and regulations
  • Demonstrated experience with standard recruiting and onboarding practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of internal & external staff.
  • Detail oriented, with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and research skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Familiar with basic payroll processing rules
  • Able to effectively work in a fast-paced environment and display a sense of urgency.
  • Function with little supervision. Be an effective team player.
  • High energy, self-motivated, service-oriented and ethical with a high degree of integrity
