We are pleased to announce that wind turbine installation and service company Global Wind Service (GWS) has become an IRATA (Industrial Rope Access Trade Association) member company. It has been a clear goal for GWS to obtain this membership, which is closely aligned with the company’s focus on being best in class on safety and quality.
“I am very proud of our dedicated team who have been working with this. We take safety very serious at Global Wind Service, also when it comes to rope access works. The IRATA membership is a verification of this, not only internally but also externally - it is an important achievement for us, and seal of approval towards our clients. Not only with regard to safety standards but also in terms of securing a uniform execution of all projects including rope works” said Peder Munkholm Jacobsen, Blades Director, Global Wind Service.
The membership process has been a close collaboration between GWS blade department, IT, Warehouse and HSEQ. It was headed by Marius Laurenas, Rope Access Manager and Global Wind Service Technical Authority regarding Rope Access. Marius has a dual role with both office-based duties, but also still is able to go out into the field and perform rope access himself.
“As a rope access technician, I am well aware of the high risks associated with this kind of work and why it is immensely important to make sure to follow very strict safety procedures criteria. In Global Wind Service we have always worked in accordance with the IRATA standards, but it has been a great pleasure for me, to head the process of becoming a full member as well” Marius said.
