Global Wind Service recently completed the installation at Energy Park Pottendijk in the Netherlands. The team installed 14 x N131/3600 TS84 turbines for Nordex Group over a period of 6 months.
Shell is the owner of Energy Park Pottendijk in Drenthe, close to Emmen. The park, spread over 35 hectares comprises both wind turbines as well as solar panels with a combined capacity of 100MW, 50 of which will come from the 14 Nordex turbines. The 100MW capacity is equivalent to an annual production of around 170GWh and a CO2 reduction of 61k ton per year.
It is the first time Nordex Group selected Global Wind Service for an onshore project with Shell as the owner.
“We have worked with Nordex and with this particular platform on many projects before, but it was the first time we had Shell as developer. I must say, it has been a great pleasure working with both Nordex and Shell on this special project at and the cooperation between all parties has been excellent. We look forward to supporting both partners again on future projects.
I would also like to highlight the great work done by our technicians, who worked tirelessly in a safe and efficient manner” said Jeroen Tiemes, Onshore Project Director at Global Wind Service.
The turbines are expected to be fully commissioned and connected to the grid, ready to produce green energy by early 2023.
