At Global Wind Service (GWS), we are proud of our varied and committed team. This is the inspiring story of Roy Yang, a Resource Manager based in Taiwan, who has helped developing Global Wind Service in the region. From his involvement in building the local Taiwanese warehouse from the ground up to overseeing the warehouse and local technicians, to stepping into a role a Resource Manager Roy's development reflects the values and commitment that define GWS.
From equipment and training to Resource Manager
Roy joined GWS in May 2022 as Equipment and Training Specialist and shortly after he was given the responsibility of setting up and managing the new GWS warehouse in Taiwan. Before joining GWS Roy worked as a Training Coordinator in the wind industry as well as Mandarin-English translator.
Working as Equipment and Training Specialist, Roy's primary focus was on safeguarding the well-being of our technicians in Taiwan by making sure that all GWS technicians had the necessary personal protective equipment PPE and climbing gear required to perform their tasks safely and efficiently.
In addition to managing PPE, Roy also took on the role of Mandatory Training Requirement assistant. As a MTR Assistant Roy played a key role in arranging and coordinating the necessary training programs for GWS technicians needed to be able to work in the wind industry in Taiwan.
Roy exemplifies the essence of responsibility, open-mindedness, and hard-work. He has played a key role in our achievements in Taiwan.
In January 2024 Roy stepped into a role as a Resource manager. In this new role, Roy is responsible for overseeing the warehouse and PPE, as well as being a manager for all local technicians.
In conversation with Ryan Chen GWS Area Manager in Taiwan and a core member of the business unit since its establishment, his deep respect and appreciation for Roy's strong work ethic and steadfast dedication is clear.

One of the aspects Roy enjoys the most about working at GWS is the opportunity to connect and collaborate with colleagues from many different countries.
"At GWS, it's like we all come from different places but are on the same journey and walk the same path together. It's great to share stories, thoughts, and knowledge with others from around the world. For me, the best thing is getting to know people from many different countries and cultures who understand my perspective. It's pretty awesome, actually."
